Officers

Faculty Association President

Ken Nolte - Forestry/Natural Resources Instructor

I've been active over the past year attending CTA/CCA Conferences, including the President's Conference and local Service Center meetings, which have given me tools to help our local to become more effective. I have attended every Board of Trustees meeting to stay current on Shasta College issues and to represent faculty. I will continue to encourage your officers to participate in training and leadership opportunities. We will keep working hard to improve our membership accounting and management processes. I'm confident with the officers that have been elected, we will be able to continue moving in a positive direction.

Vice President

Vacant

Secretary

Tom Morehouse - Counselor

I appreciate your consideration of me as a candidate for Secretary of the Shasta College Faculty Association. If elected I pledge to do my utmost to support your Executive Board team in its continuing efforts to improve faculty working conditions and represent your best interests. I believe I am qualified as well as interested in and motivated to carry out the duties of Secretary. I have had the good fortune of being a member of our faculty for the past three years and before that as the Shasta College DSPS Director for five years. This past year I have served on the Executive Board as the Counselor’s representative. I have greatly appreciated working with our current Association leadership and learning how our Association and its Executive Board functions. Additionally, I have involved myself outside my regular duties by representing my professional Shasta College constituencies to respective groups within Region One and the Chancellor’s Office. Again, I want to thank you for selecting me as Secretary of your Faculty Association. It will be my honor to faithfully and responsibly support and serve both the Executive Board and the membership as a whole.

Treasurer

Anthony Eckhardt - Economics Instructor

I will continue to do my very best to keep the bookkeeping aspect of SCFA current, accurate, transparent and moving in a fiduciary direction that best serves the members of the Association. As far as credentials, I have been the treasurer for the SCFA for almost two years. In addition to my daily treasurer duties, I have attended several conferences geared toward Faculty Association officers and continue to learn a great deal operationally about the treasurer position.
My teaching experience began in about 2002 when I was invited to teach some business, computer and eventually economics courses for a community college in central California. In 2006, I applied for and was given the opportunity to work as a part time instructor at Shasta College. In fall of the same year, I was hired on as a full time instructor, and continue in that position. Prior to teaching, my professional background was predominately in the private financial industry. I have experience as a bookkeeper, a credit, economic, and financial analyst.
I believe that having professional experience within and outside of academia creates a perspective that is balanced and realistic. This perspective benefits SCFA on two fronts; I can bring business pragmatism to the financially oriented officer position but understand the unique needs of education.
I look forward to the coming challenges and serving our faculty.
