Anthony Eckhardt - Economics Instructor
I will continue to do my very best to keep the bookkeeping aspect of SCFA current, accurate, transparent and moving in a fiduciary direction that best serves the members of the Association. As far as credentials, I have been the treasurer for the SCFA for almost two years. In addition to my daily treasurer duties, I have attended several conferences geared toward Faculty Association officers and continue to learn a great deal operationally about the treasurer position.
My teaching experience began in about 2002 when I was invited to teach some business, computer and eventually economics courses for a community college in central California. In 2006, I applied for and was given the opportunity to work as a part time instructor at Shasta College. In fall of the same year, I was hired on as a full time instructor, and continue in that position. Prior to teaching, my professional background was predominately in the private financial industry. I have experience as a bookkeeper, a credit, economic, and financial analyst.
I believe that having professional experience within and outside of academia creates a perspective that is balanced and realistic. This perspective benefits SCFA on two fronts; I can bring business pragmatism to the financially oriented officer position but understand the unique needs of education.
I look forward to the coming challenges and serving our faculty.
